Bihar Sharif: In the Pool D match of the BCA Senior Cricket Tournament being played under the auspices of Bihar Cricket Association, Nawada defeated hosts Nalanda by 52 runs.
With this victory, Nawada team has topped the pool. Nawada have won one and lost one in the two matches played so far. Gaya are at second position while Nalanda are at third position on the basis of net run rate.
Nawada won the toss and decided to bat first, Nawada scored 242 runs losing all the wickets in 45.5 overs. Vivek Ranjan scored 42 runs, Suman Saurabh scored 41 runs, Yashraj Singh scored 38 runs and Sachin Patel scored 30 runs.
For Nalanda, Aditya Raj took 4 wickets and Suman Kumar Saurabh took 2 wickets.
In reply, Nalanda, while chasing the target, did not have a good start and the entire team was all out for 190 runs. Apart from Munna’s 66 runs, no other batsman could survive.
For Nawada, Hrithik Sharma took three wickets, Vivek Ranjan took two wickets and Saurav Suman also dismissed two players.
Suman Saurabh, who had an excellent all-round performance in the match, was given the Man of the Match trophy.
