Patna take vital 88 runs first innings lead; Varun Raj of Shahabad misses ton

Patna: Patna took a vital first innings lead of 88 runs against Rest Shahabad Zone on the second day of the four-day final of BCA Super League at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Friday.  Patna scored 287 runs in their first innings while Rest of Shahabad Zone were all out for 199 runs in their first innings.

At the end of the second day’s play Patna were 29 for the loss of two wickets. With this, Patna were leading by 117 runs with eight wickets in hand.

Starting the day on 262 for 9, Patna tailenders added 25 more runs before being all out for 287 runs. Shlok scored 63 runs. Rahul Rathore remained unbeaten after scoring 11 runs.

For Rest of Shahabad Zone, Paramjeet Singh took 3 wickets, Hydayanand Singh took one wicket, Ankit Singh, Samresh Kumar and Rahul Kumar took two wickets each.

Varun Raj of Shahabad Zone excelled with the bat scoring 98 runs in an otherwise dismal batting by rest other batsmen of his team. Varun missed the coveted century marks by just two runs.

Varun Raj’s 98 came off 137 balls with the help of 17 fours and one six, Rahul Kumar scored 16, Ankit Raj scored 19, Karan Raj scored 21, Paramjit scored 24 runs for Shahabad Zone.

For Patna, Suraj Kashyap captured 5 wickets, Abhinav Singh took 2 wickets, and Rahul Rathore, Aman Anand and Vivek took one wicket each..

At the end of the day’s play, Shlok 1 and Shashim Rathore 5 were on the crease. For Rest of Shahabad Zone, Paramjit and Ankit Singh bagged one wicket each.
