Patna: Suhani Kumari of Muzaffarpur beat Somya Bharti of Katihar 22-20, 21-16 to win the girls’ U-15 singles title of the Hundred Bihar State Sub-Junior (U-15/U-17) Badminton Championships at Indoor Stadium in Supaul on Saturday.
Ashaduhalla of Munger annexed the boys U-15 singles title defeating Ishant Raj of Samastipur 16-21, 21-16, 21-13 in the final.
Saksham Vata of Patna clinched the boys U-17 singles title defeating Parag Singh of Munger in a three-game thriller 19-12, 21-15, 21-14.
Vaibhavi Singh of Katihar claimed the girls’ U-17 singles crown beating Srija of Patna 21-12, 21-13.
The pair of Ishant Raj and Kavya Kashyap bagged the boys U-15 doubles title defeating Aradhya Kumar and Harsh Kumar 23-21, 21-06.
Parag Singh and Ranveer Singh captured the boys U1-7 doubles title defeating Akshar and Saksham 21-11, 21-16.
After the finals, in colourful function cash prizes, trophies and other awards were given to champion and runner-up contestants.
The tournament was sponsored by Hundred, a subsidiary unit of badminton equipment manufacturer Li Ning.
