Gaya Athletes Lead Medal Tally on Day One of Bihar State Inter-District School Boys Under-17 Athletics Championship

Patna: Gaya athletes dominated the first day of the Bihar State Inter-District School Boys Under-17 Athletics Championship, winning two golds, one silver, and one bronze, putting them at the top of the medal table.

The first gold of the four-day event, organised by the District Administration, Patna in partnership with the Sports Department, Bihar and the Bihar State Sports Authority, was claimed by Rajan Raj of Vaishali, who won the 1500-metre race in 4:03:41. Gaya’s Rohit Kumar secured silver with a time of 4:04:15, while Roshan Kumar of Gaya took bronze, finishing in 4:07:92.

In the shot put event, Dev Raj of Gaya was crowned “Iron Boy” after throwing 13.50 metres to win gold. The silver medal went to Raunak Raj of Sheikhpura, with a throw of 11.98 metres, and Riyaz Qureshi of Rohtas took bronze with 11.96 metres.

Prem Raj continued Gaya’s success, winning gold in the triple jump with a leap of 14.05 metres. Ayush Kumar from Siwan earned silver with a jump of 13.40 metres, while Pradeep Kumar secured bronze with 13.20 metres.
