Patna: Bihar faced an 8-wicket defeat against Rajasthan in the Women’s Under-23 One Day Trophy match held at the Lady Amritbai Daga College Ground in Nagpur on Thursday.
Batting first, Bihar posted a total of 129 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Arya was the standout performer for Bihar, scoring an unbeaten half-century. She contributed 50 runs off 73 balls, including 7 fours and 1 six. Captain Yashita Singh added 23 runs off 30 balls, hitting 4 fours, while Nikki Kumari (18 runs), Tejaswi (14 runs), and Vishalakshi (10 runs) also made contributions to the total.
For Rajasthan, the bowling attack was led by Kalpana Rawat, UA Pereria, and KP Choudhary, each claiming 2 wickets. SP Sharma and Shanu also chipped in with 1 wicket apiece.
In response, Rajasthan comfortably chased down the target, scoring 131 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in just 31.5 overs. Captain A D Garg anchored the innings with an unbeaten 56 runs off 88 balls, including 7 fours, while C O Bhati remained not out with 37 runs off 67 balls, hitting 6 fours. Shreya (18 runs) and Kanwar (5 runs) also contributed to the successful chase.
For Bihar, Rachna Singh and Tejaswi managed to take 1 wicket each, but their efforts were insufficient to halt Rajasthan’s well-planned batting performance.
