Bhagalpur: Total five accused involved in murder of an employee of a finance company in Sahoo Parbatta Police Station (PS) area of Nugachia sub division in this district have been arrested by police. The firearms used for murdering the victim and cash looted from him has been also recovered.
Information about arrest of the accused was given by Sushant Kumar Saroj, Naugachia SP, yesterday at a press conference held in Parbatta PS. The SP said those arrested in connection with the murder include Akhilesh alias Akla, resident of Sadhuwa village besides Deepak Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Dalo Kumar and Sintoo Kumar all residents of Chhoti Parbatta village.
Two country made revolvers, ten cartridges and twenty- three thousand looted cash has been recovered, he said. SP added the bike used for committing the crime has been also recovered by police.
Akhilesh alias Akla arrested in connection with the murder is a notorious criminal he said informing Akla is involved in several cases of serious crime in Naugachia besides adjoining districts. SP added he is active member of notorious Chhotu Yadav gang. Akla and Deepak on a motorcycle had been following victim from Chhoti Parbatta, SP said.
He added the victim who was also riding motorcycle was fired upon from behind by the culprits. The SP further said all members of special investigating team headed by Dilip Kumar, sub divisional police officer, would be rewarded for their success in nabbing the culprits within twenty-four hours since crime was committed.
It may be mentioned victim Nakul Paswan, employed as field officer in LNT Bank located in Makandpur Chowk was shot dead by criminals on road no 14 near a tamarind tree on last Saturday while he was returning to bank after collecting money from members of female group.
He had more than Rs 70000 cash with him. Paswan who was riding motorcycle fell down from bike after he was fired upon by criminals from behind. Before fleeing, the criminals looted cash victim was carrying. Originally a resident of Tikkapatti in Purnia district the victim used to stay in Naugachia. As per information he was involved in works related to lending and money collection.
