Bhagalpur: Taking note of feedback received from radiologists at Sadar hospital here about increased detection of cases of stone formation in human organs, the District Magistrate (DM) Dr Nawal Kishore Choudhury has stressed upon need of identifying the reasons contributing in stone formation.
In course of inspection of Sadar hospital this week, DM was informed by radiologists that in ultrasound tests stone formation is being detected in number of cases.
The DM of the opinion that reasons need to be ascertained behind increase of stone related complications, laid emphasis on preserving the stones removed from human body for studying composition of the stones.
The civil surgeon present on the occasion was asked by Dr Choudhury to give necessary instruction to concerned authority of medical college hospital beside management of private nursing home and hospitals, for preserving stones removed from human body through surgery.
As per information considering increase in cases of stone related complications in patients, a concerning development, study of stones removed from body suggested by DM is also aimed at finding out whether is there is any common cause behind stone formation.
For finding out whether impurities and fluoride contamination in water is leading to diseases Dr Choudhury directed for constituting a study team of doctors and engineers of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED).
In course of inspection of the hospital the district programme officer was directed by DM for digitalization of OPD and other services of hospital. Several other directives were given by Dr Choudhury on the occasion for further improvement of hospital functioning.
