Sonepur, June 1: In a match played under the Patliputra Zone of the Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament, which began on Saturday under the aegis of the Bihar Cricket Association, Arwal commenced their victory campaign by defeating Vaishali by seven wickets.
In this match, held at the local railway ground, Lavkesh Kumar took five wickets for Arwal, while Yash Raj (55 runs) and Utsav Kumar (62 runs) scored half-centuries.
Vaishali won the toss and chose to bat first. Openers Raunak Kumar and Prem Kumar were unable to stay on the wicket for long, with two wickets falling for just 27 runs. Subsequently, Jayant Raj stabilized the innings by scoring a half-century, with contributions from Gopal Kumar, Manish Kumar, and Prince Raj, leading Vaishali to a total of 144 runs in 36.3 overs.
