Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Launches First International Export of Sudha Dairy Products

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the first export consignment of the Sudha brand, produced by the Bihar State Milk Cooperative Union Limited, from 1 Anne Marg on Friday.

During the event, he flagged off two vehicles and inspected the products prepared by Sudha. This consignment includes ghee, makhana, and gulab jamun manufactured in Bihar, marking a significant step towards gaining global recognition for the state’s dairy and agricultural products.

Products En Route to the US and Canada

Additional Chief Secretary of the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department, Dr N. Vijayalakshmi, provided detailed information to the Chief Minister. She said that the first vehicle is carrying makhana and ghee to the United States, while the second vehicle has departed with gulab jamun destined for Canada.

The products will first be transported to a seaport, from where they will be shipped to the US and Canada. This initiative is being hailed as a major milestone in expanding the reach of Bihar’s dairy and agricultural products in international markets.

Inspection of Products and Welcome Ceremony

During the launch programme, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar personally inspected Sudha’s products and praised their quality. He expressed satisfaction upon reviewing items such as ghee, makhana, and gulab jamun, describing the initiative as a positive step for Bihar’s economy.

On the occasion, Animal and Fisheries Resources Minister Renu Devi welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a bouquet of flowers.

A Landmark Achievement for Bihar

The export of Bihar’s local products to the global market is seen as a crucial move for the state’s economic progress. This first international consignment under the Sudha brand is expected to establish the quality of Bihar’s dairy and agricultural products on a global scale.

The initiative is anticipated to benefit farmers and milk producers while earning international recognition for Bihar’s rich agricultural heritage. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar emphasised that this step will provide a new direction for Bihar’s economic development and strengthen the financial stability of local farmers and those associated with the dairy industry.

Applauding the initiative, he assured that the government will continue to make every effort to promote other Bihar-made products on the global stage in the future.
