Veer Kunwar Singh Clinch Dayanand Singh Memorial Women’s State Cricket Title

Patna: Veer Kunwar Singh annexed the title of Dayanand Singh Memorial Women’s State Cricket Tournament by defeating Sardar Patel XI by 10 wickets on Thursday at Jagjivan Stadium in Khagaul.

Sardar Patel XI won the toss and opted to bat first, posting 107 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 21 overs. F Parveen top-scored with 26 runs, while Dolly and Yashita Singh took two wickets each for Veer Kunwar Singh.

In reply, Veer Kunwar Singh chased down the target effortlessly in just 14.5 overs without losing a wicket, thanks to Yashita Singh’s unbeaten 63 and Komal Kumari’s steady 41 not out. Yashita Singh was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance in the final.

Following the match, the winning and runner-up teams were awarded by chief guest and former cricketer Sushil Kumar Mishra, who is also an NIS coach. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Abhishek Singh, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Prabhat Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Tinku Gupta, convener Jitendra Kumar, Rajnikant Shyamal, Mrs. Pooja Rituraj, Ranjit Singh, Kanchan Kumari, Kiran Mishra, Manish Singh, Aryan Sinha, and all members of the organising committee.
