Bihar Sharif: With the help of Suman Saurabh’s brilliant 117 runs, Nawada made a great start by defeating Shekhpura by 40 runs in the Magadh Zone match of Randhir Verma Under-19 Inter District Cricket Tournament, hosted by Cricket Association of Nalanda under the banner of Bihar Cricket Association.
In this match played at Nalanda Cricket Ground located in Anchordih of the district, after winning the toss and batting first, Nawada scored 338 runs by losing 7 wickets in 45 overs. Suman Saurav’s century contributed 117 runs, Aditya contributed 60 runs, Yogesh 58 and Rohit contributed 22 runs. For Shekhpura, Suraj Vijay took three wickets and Kanhaiya took two wickets.
In reply, Sheikhpura team scored 298 runs in 45 overs losing 6 wickets and lost the match by 40 runs. Sanjeev scored unbeaten 70 runs, Govind scored 36 runs, Pankaj scored 35 runs, Sachin scored 28 runs and Ketan scored 21 runs. Suman Saurav took two wickets from Nawada.
Suman Saurav of Nawada was given the Man of the Match award by social worker Bhupesh Kumar.
