Patna: Rising Star beat GAC by 24 runs in the Patna District Senior Division Cricket League at Gen-Nex Cricket Academy ground, Sampatchak here on Saturday.
Despite a century partnership between Vivek Kumar (72 runs) and Shashi Anand (42 runs) and a blazing half century by Kumar Rajneesh, GAC could not win the match.
Rising Star scored 256 runs for 8 wickets in 35 overs while in reply, GAC were all out for 232 runs in 32.5 overs.
GAC won the toss and decided to field first. For Rising Star, the main run getters were Gulshan (54 runs), Aman Raj (55 runs), Animesh Kumar (51 runs) and Agastya (48 runs).
In reply, GAC could only manage 232 runs losing all wickets in 32.5 overs. GAC had lost six wickets for 117 runs. After that, captain Shashi Anand and Vivek Kumar formed a valuable partnership.
