Patna: On the second day of the 29th Bihar State Junior Ball Badminton Championship being played at Maharaja Laxmeshwar Singh College Sarisbapahi Pandaul (Madhubani), in the boys’ category, teams of Naugachhia, Darbhanga, Begusarai, Vaishali, East Champaran, Samastipur, Kilkari, Siwan and in girls category, Vaishali, Kilkari, Begusarai, Naugachhia, Siwan, Saharsa, Darbhanga and Samastipur entered the quarter-finals.
Earlier, the second day of the championship was inaugurated by the Bihar Ball Badminton Association President and Bihar Legislative Council Member Prof. Nawal Kishore Yadav and Bihar Ball Badminton Association Vice President Prof. Suheli Mehta. Addressing the players and sportspersons Prof. Nawal Kishore Yadav said that the Ball Badminton Association conducts the program me according to its annual sports calendar. The State Ball Badminton Association is committed to provide basic facilities to players.
Prof. Suheli Mehta said that the ball badminton game is a game played at a low cost. Ball badminton sports have become popular in urban and rural areas as well as a large number of schools and colleges are taking up this sport.
Santosh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, Madhubani District Ball Badminton Association and Bihar Ball Badminton Association secretary Goursi Shankar welcomed the guests. On this occasion social worker and youth icon Santosh Kumar Jha ‘Belahi’, Patna District Ball Badminton Association Secretary Dr. Arun Dayal, Amit Kumar Thakur, Bablu Sahni, physiotherapist Dr. Rakesh Raju, teacher Randhir Kumar, national player of squash racket Shyam Kumar Jha, Dr Sanjeev Jha, Rambahadur Chaudhary, Uday Jha, technical committee chairman Deepak Singh Kashyap and many other distinguished persons were present on the occasion.
