Preparations on in full swing at Gopalganj for 44th Senior National Throwball Championship

Under the banner of the Throwball Federation of India and the Throwball Association of Bihar, the Throwball Association of Gopalganj and Shining Souls Trust will host the 44th Senior National Throwball Championship (men and women) from March 25 to March 28 at the Smart Move Academy Sports Ground in Panchdeori block of Gopalganj district. The championship preparations are well underway.

Giving this information at a press conference held at Panchdeori Block Office in Gopalganj, Joint Secretary of the Throwball Federation of India and Secretary of the Throwball Association of Bihar, Neeraj Kumar Pappu, said that this is the first time a national throwball championship is being organised outside Patna.

He said that women’s and men’s teams from about 28 states will participate in the championships. Smart Move Academy will turn into a mini India for the five days. The matches will be played on four courts and on mats. Two courts will be made of mats and two of soil, he said.

Pappu said that about 20 technical officials from across the country will conduct the matches. He said that good arrangements have been made for the boarding, lodging, and food of the players, technical officials, and office-bearers of the federation and various state associations. The players of the men’s teams will stay around the venue, while the women’s teams will stay at Buddhist Dharamshalas in Kushinagar. Technical officials will stay around the venue, while arrangements have been made for federation and state association officials to stay in the hotels in Kushinagar.

Pappu said that the inauguration ceremony of this championship will be colorful. On February 25, a four-kilometer-long opening rally will be held in which players and officials will participate. This opening rally will also have elephants, camels, and horses with bands. Attractive cultural programmes will be held at the opening ceremony.

He said that Rahul Sinha, director of the Smart Move Academy and secretary of the Gopalganj Throwball Association, has been entrusted with the responsibility of successfully organising the championships. He said that many subcommittees are being formed for the successful organisation of the event.

Organising secretary Rahul Sinha said the chairman of the organising committee will be Manish Kumar Srivastava, Block Development Officer of Panchdeori Block. Dharmendra Yadav will be the chairman of the transport committee. Other committee heads are; chairman of boarding and lodging: Kuldeep Singh; chairman of the food committee: Mantu Kushwaha; chairman of the ground equipment committee, Mukesh Kumar; and chairman of the function committee: Manish Kumar and Gaurav Kumar Singh.

Manish Kumar Srivastava (Panchdeori Block Development Officer), the Throwball Association of Gopalganj Joint Secretary Santosh Tiwari, Throwball Association of Gopalganj Treasurer Meraj Ansari, Mrs. Siddhi Wala Sinha, Mrs. Gudiya Kumari Singh, Vineet Kumar Sharma, Dharmendra Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Manish Kumar, Gaurav Kumar Singh, Mantu Kushwaha, Birender Baitha, Suresh Yadav, Ashok Kumar Mishra, Ashish Kumar Srivastava, Sanjeev Kumar Srivastava, Chhotalal Lal Kushwaha, Mukesh Kumar, Pratap Kumar Sinha, Ashish Mishra, Anil Prajapati, Krishna Kant Kushwaha and many others were also present at the press conference.
