Over 50’s T20 Cricket Premier League to be held in Jamshedpur from April 26

Jamshedpur: First Over 50’s T 20 Cricket Premier League (Eastern Zone) is going to be organized under the banner of EZCL and VCI from April 26 to April 28 2024 in Jamshedpur. This league is affiliated to the Veterans Indian Cricket Foundation (VCI).

This is the new initiative by EZCL & VCI in Eastern Zone for retired cricketers of Over 50’s.

Players from Patna, Andaman and Nicobar, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Chaibasa, Asansol, Barbil (Odisha) and Tata Nagar are participating in it.

The matches will be of 20 overs each side and it will be played with Red cricket ball in Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur as per league basis. The winner of the tournament will be decided as per net run rate. No final match will be played.

Match timing is from 7.30 am to 10.45 am and 11.00 am to 2.15 pm.
Prize distribution will be held on April 28, 2024 at 2.30 PM. in Keenan Stadium.

Four teams have been formed on the pattern of IPL Auction and players on the point basis were chosen by respective captains and vice captains of the team through bidding process (on points basis) (minimum 2000 points and maximum 10000 points were fixed)

Fixed base points of each player was kept as 2000 points and after the bidding process the highest went up to 10000 points as the last limit.

Players are ready to enjoy the game and to perform once again in the field of Cricket and attended the practice session today on April 6, 2024 morning.

Four teams have been declared.

1. Eastern Panthers:
Captain Mahesh Jha (Jamshedpur – 10k points) and Prasanna Jha as vice captain (Jamshedpur – 8k points), Kirti Rawal (8k), Anwar Hussain (10k), Abdul Waheed (10K), Alok Kumar (10K), Ghanshyam Chaudhari (10K), Ashish Bhattacharjee (10K), Abu Ashraf (10k), Subasis Das (Wicket keeper – 5k), and Satya Prakash (2k)

2. Eastern Leopards:
Captain Vasudevan (Jamshedpur – 10k) and Gulrez Akhtar as vice-captain (Patna – 8k). Biswesh Tiwary (8k), Ajai Gautam (10k), Manvendra Nath Dixit (10k), Sumant Mendiratta (Wicket keeper – 5k), Swapan Layak (4k), Anuj Singh (4k), Mukesh Kumar (5k), Sandeep Kr Singh (2k), and Binod Prajapti (2k),

3. Eastern Lions:
Captain K V Srinivasan (Jamshedpur – 10k) and Shambhu Lal Puri as Vice-captain (Jamshedpur – 8k), Shyamal Pramanick (Wicket Keeper – 5k), R Sundaram (10k), Virendra Singh (10k), Purushottam Pandey (8.5k), Sanjay Chandra (8.5k), Jaswant Singh (10k), Rashid (3k), Binod Kumar (2k), and Birendra Narayan (2k)

4. Eastern Tigers:
Captain Purshottam Sahu (Jamshedpur – 10k) and Sarfaraz Ahmad as vice-captain (Ranchi – 8k), Ritesh Sinha (10k), Nixon Kumar (wicket keeper – 5k), Debashish Chandra – (10k), Manas Chakraborty (10k), G S R Murthy (10k), Ramesh Kr Pandey (8k), K Chandra Sekhar (6k), Bhola Prasad (3k), and Subhash Singh (2k).

Qualified umpires of JSCA have been deputed to officiate the matches.

Mr. K B Shukla, All India Panel Qualified Referee (TT game) was present during the auction as an Auction Coordinator along with Ranjan Kumar of EZCL as an Observer and supported Avinash Kumar the organizer.

A practice session of the players on April 7 (Sunday) has been arranged in the Cricket Academy Jamshedpur, Kadma from 3.30 PM onwards.
