Patna: Bihar bagged seven medals including three gold medals in the 18th National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) which concluded at the Patliputra Sports Complex here on Sunday.

Results:

Under 16 Girls Shot Put: Alka Singh from Bihar-Siwan – Gold medal; Khushi from Amroha (Uttar Pradesh) – Silver medal; Anshu from Haryana – Sonipat – Bronze medal.

Under 16 Girls Age Group 80m Race: Sarvani Rokde from Maharashtra – Pune – Gold Medal; Chukka Selja from Telangana-Nagarkulun-Silver medal; Archita Banerjee from West Bengal-Bardhaman-Bronze medal.

Discus throw under 16 girls age group: Tamil Nadu – Anushree K.S. gold medal: Uttar Pradesh – Supriya Attri Silver Medal from Gautam Buddha Nagar; Mannat from Haryana-Panipat-Bronze medal.

Under 16 Girls Hexathlon Group ‘A’: Karnataka- Bhuvan Sariah P. from Bengaluru Urban Region – Gold Medal; Rini Khatoon Silver Medal from West Bengal- Nadia; Alfaz Kaur Grewal from Punjab-Fazilka- Bronze medal.

Under 16 Girls Age Group 600m race: Deepika Gold Medal from Haryana-Panipat; Maharashtra – Kashish Kaviram Bhagat from Nagpur – Silver Medal; Riya Bisht from Delhi-North-West-Bronze medal.

Under 16 Girls age group 1600m race: Tamil Nadu – Pratigya Panna Gold Medal from Nilgiris; Muskan Silver Medal from Haryana-Sonepat and Srishti from Delhi-South Delhi-bronze medal.

Under 16 Girls Age Group Long Jump: Srihanisha P. from Tamil Nadu-Coimbatore-gold medal; Kritika Anandaku from Tamil Nadu-Kanchipuram- silver medal and Poonam-bronze medal from Rajasthan-Churu.

Under 16 Girls age group high jump: West Bengal-Satpati Ghosh- Gold Medal from Bardhaman; Jharkhand – Sneha Kumari from Bokaro-Silver; Tamil Nadu (Chennai) Kirthana CL- Bronze Medal.

Under 16 boys in 80mrace: Uttar Pradesh – Anshu Rajat from Jhansi- gold medal; Yashwanth Reddy Kandu from Nalgonda, Telangana- silver medal; Prashant Singh from Bihar-Patna- bronze medal.

Under 16 boys in 1600m race: Awadhesh Batham from Madhya Pradesh-Gwalior-gold medal; Shagolshem Rishan Maithi from Manipur-Imphal East-silver medal and Uttar Pradesh – Mohit Kumar- bronze medal.

Under 16 Boys Discus Throw: Rudar-gold medal from Haryana-Panipat; Avinesh Talan from Gautam Buddha Nagar (Uttar Pradesh)-silver medal and Abhay Singh Patel from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh- bronze medal.

Under 16 boys in 600m race: Yugank Chowdhary from Saharanpur- gold medal; Saket Minj from Gumla (Jharkhand)-silver medal and Ajay Baliyan from Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh)-bronze medal.

Under 16 boys age group long jump event: Sudhir Sharma from Mathura (UP)-gold medal; Omkar Taggi from Vizianagaram(AP)- silver medal; Prem Phate from Bhandra, Maharashtra-bronze medal.

Players from all over the country, their coaches and managers were quite satisfied with the organisation of the 18th National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) in Bihar. They lauded arrangements provided in Patna by the state government.

Some players and coaches even said that when they heard that this time this event is being held in Bihar, they were very scared and worried, but after coming here, when they saw the better arrangements and facilities here, their thinking changed.

Today, Bihar Art, Culture and Youth Department minister Jitendra Kumar RaiChief Secretary of Bihar, Amir Subhani and Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Shankaran were present at the medal ceremony on the final day. President of Athletics Federation of India, Adille J. Sumariwala, Former Secretary of Indian Olympic Association Lalit Bhanot, Secretary of Bihar Athletics Association, Liaquat Ali, Olympian Bahadur Singh Chauhan were present on the occasion.
