Patna: Super Over Cricket Academy emerged victorious in the Shailendra Kumar Memorial Under-15 Inter School Cricket Tournament, sponsored by Casa Picolla Restaurant, defeating Sardar Patel Cricket Academy by nine wickets in the final.
The tournament, organised under the aegis of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, culminated in an exciting final at the local Krishna Cricket Ground. Sardar Patel Cricket Academy won the toss and opted to bat first, but they were bowled out for 61 runs in 11 overs. Himanshu Raj top-scored with 15 runs, while Sahil Alam contributed 14 runs. Animesh Raj was the standout bowler for Super Over Cricket Academy, claiming 5 wickets, supported by Piyush with 3 wickets and Prince Dubey with 2 wickets.
In response, Super Over Cricket Academy chased down the target comfortably, scoring 67 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket in 4.5 overs. Piyush played a stellar innings, remaining unbeaten on 56 runs, which guided his team to a commanding victory.
The awards ceremony saw Dr. Satyendra Narayan Mohan Paswan and Dr. Rajiv Kumar honouring the players. Piyush of Super Over Cricket Academy was named Player of the Match for his match-winning performance. Other accolades included Best Batter awarded to Karan Kumar, Best Bowler to Animesh Raj, and Best Fielder to Rupesh Kumar. Neeraj Kumar was adjudged Man of the Tournament.
Additionally, Aryan Raj received the Tara Nath Mishra Memorial Award for Emerging Player, presented by Ramesh Mishra, son of the late Taranath Mishra. The award included a 10-gram silver coin.
