Kaimur on verge of victory; Rest of Western Zone and Darbhanga take lead

Patna: Rest of Western Zone took a slender lead of two runs over Patna on the second day of BCA Super League at the Moinul Haq Stadium on Friday. Patna were all out for 229 runs in the first innings while Rest of Western Zone scored 231 runs in their first innings.

At the end of the second day’s play, Rest of Western Zone were on 54 for two wickets.

In Purnia, Kamiur scored 178 runs in their first innings against Seemanchal Zone and took a lead of 81 runs. Seemanchal has scored 97 runs in their first innings.  In the second innings, Rest of Seemanchal Zone were bowled out for 180 runs giving Kaimur a target of 100 runs to win the match. Chasing the target, Kaimur scored 63 runs for one wicket at the end of the second day’s play.

In the match between Darbhanga and Rest of Central Zone in Supaul, in reply to Rest of Central Zone’s 239 in the first innings, Darbhanga scored 400 runs, thanks to 180 runs from Altmas, and got a lead of 161 runs when the bad light stopped the play.

Patna started the first day at 27 for 1 at the Moinul Haq Stadium, and were all out for 229 runs. For Patna, Shasheem Rathore scored 38 runs, Akash Raj made 68 runs, Yashasvi Shukla scored 39 runs, and Suraj Kashyap scored 49 runs. Badal Kanojia and Sachin Kumar Singh took three wickets each.

Until the end of the second day’s play, the Rest of Western Zone were on 54 for two wickets. Sakibul Gani was dismissed for 22 runs and Prashant Kumar Singh for 26 runs.

Darbhanga scored 400 runs in their first innings at the Kosi Club ground in Birpur (Supaul). For Darbhanga, Altamas scored a magnificent 180 runs, Tripurari Keshav scored 50 runs and Ayush Loharika scored 47 runs. For Rest of Central Zone, Suman Kumar took 7 wickets.
