Patna: With Prashant Singh’s half-century and Shakibul Gani (49), Rest of Western Zone scored 231 runs in their first innings against Patna in the BCA Super League multi-day match at the Moinul Haq Stadium on Thursday.
At the end of the first day’s play, Patna scored 27 runs for 1 wicket in 8 overs. Shasheem Rathore (20) and Shlok Kumar (5) were on the crease.
Rest of Western Zone won the toss and elected to bat first. Abhishek Kumar (25), Prashant Kumar Singh (68), Utkarsh Singh (33 runs), Sakibul Gani (49) and Aditya Srivastava (35) were notable contributors.
For, Patna, Suraj Kashyap took 3 wickets, Rahul Rathore took 2 wickets, Pawan Kumar, Shasheem and Shlok took one wicket each.
At Green Valley, Rest of Seemanchal won the toss and decided to bat first. Kaimur bowlers bundled out the entire Rest of Seemanchal team for 97 runs in the first innings. At the end of the first day’s play, Kaimur were 164 runs at the loss of six wickets. Kaimur took a lead of 67 runs in the first innings.
For, Seemanchal, Raja Babu (20) and Ahsan (26) contributed significantly with the bat. For, Kaimur, Vikas Kumar Patel took three wickets, Gaurav Singh, Aditya and Amrit took two wickets each.
In Kaimur’s first innings, Wasim Ali (28), Gupil Rai (56), and Mohammad Parvez (28 not out) were the notable contributors. Shishir Saket took three wickets from Rest of Seemanchal.
In Rest of Central Zone vs Darbhanga DCA match at Kosi Club ground in Birpur (Supaul), Rest of Central Zone electing to bat first, were bowled out for 239 runs in 73.3 overs. Md Alam scored a brilliant 77 runs. Vaibhav made 37 runs, Prateek scored 35 runs and Harshit contributed 33 runs. For Darbhanga, Mayank took 4 wickets for 82 runs while Manish and Navneet got three wickets each. Darbhanga were 64 runs for one wicket till the end of today’s game. Tripurari (38 not out) and Ayush (26 not out) were at the crease.
