What is ‘Road to School’

“Road to School” focuses on addressing the learning gap among students in government primary, upper primary, and composite schools. The program places special emphasis on creating infrastructure to support the overall development of students. Using a measurable model, Road to School aims to improve student attendance, as well as their educational and co-curricular development, and address the issue of dropouts.

Goal to improve basic education, health, sports and art education

The Road to School project aims to enhance basic education, health, sports, and art education for children. The project will focus on improving basic education in line with the Nipun Bharat Mission. For example, it aims to increase children’s interest in science and mathematics and develop their understanding of these subjects.

The project will implement a curriculum focused on physical, emotional, social, and environmental well-being to promote overall health development in children. Additionally, selected schools will introduce the Khelo India program to encourage children’s participation in sports. Moreover, the project will identify and nurture the inherent talent in children for skill development.

50 resource persons deployed in the first phase

In the ‘Road to School’ project, one resource person will be deployed for every two schools. In Chargawan block, 50 resource persons have been deployed for all 78 schools. In the second phase, 50 resource persons will also be deployed in Bhathat block. Additionally, five senior resource persons will be assigned to each block to monitor and guide the responsibilities of the resource persons.

Furthermore, there will be five project associates in each block to implement children’s health care and welfare program activities in schools. As part of the Road to School project, each school will receive teaching aids and math kits to enhance students’ mathematical abilities. In line with the Khelo India program, a sports kit will also be provided to promote sports activities among children.

Education sector strengthens under CM’s guidance

Gorakhpur District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh has stated that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, primary education is becoming stronger. The ‘Road to School’ project is also contributing to this improvement. This project aims to enhance the quality and quantity of education. It will focus on maintaining 100 percent student enrollment and ensuring students progress to the next class. In addition to sports and skill development, the project will prioritize overall student development by promoting awareness of health and hygiene practices.
