Patna: The 33rd Sub Junior National Kabaddi Championship Boys, which was organised by the East Champaran District Kabaddi Association under the supervision of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association under the auspices of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India from March 16, 2024, to March 19 at GD Goenka Public School, Motihari, concluded here on Tuesday with Haryana winning the gold medal, defeating the Sports Authority of India in the final by 45-35.
The team of the Sports Authority of India got a silver medal, and the teams of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh got bronze medals.
Arjuna Award winner and current Indian Kabaddi captain Pavan Sherawat was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Sherawat said that I am fortunate that I got the opportunity to come to Champaran today. For this, I express my gratitude to the officials of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association and the East Champaran District Kabaddi Association. As far as this championship is concerned, the players of all the teams have given their best. They performed better, and the best team won the final match of the tournament. He encouraged all the teams participating in the championship and asked them to give their best performance in the next competition.
The Sports Authority of India defeated Telangana, Himachal Pradesh defeated Maharashtra, Haryana defeated Rajasthan, Gujarat defeated Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh defeated Assam, and Punjab defeated Chhattisgarh to advance to the quarterfinals. Bihar, the Sports Authority of India, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh all entered the semifinals.
The Sports Authority of India confirmed its place in the file by defeating Bihar 33-28 in the semi-final match this morning, while Haryana defeated Andhra Pradesh 51-36 in the other semifinal.
