Patna: Sardar Patel Cricket Academy Senior won the title of the 4th Nanhak Mahto Memorial Under-15 Inter School Cricket Tournament in a rain-hit match.
The final match of this tournament, organised under the aegis of Sardar Patel Sports Foundation, was interrupted by rain. Foundation founder Santosh Tiwari said that the match could not be completed due to rain and the umpire and tournament committee declared Sardar Patel Cricket Academy Senior as the winner.
In the final of this tournament sponsored by Casa Picolla Restaurant, Sardar Patel Cricket Academy Senior won the toss and batting first and scored 166 runs losing all wickets in 24.2 overs. Utkarsh scored 33 and Armaan also scored 33 runs. Karan Kumar and Piyush Kumar took three wickets each while Vaibhav Raj took 2 wickets for Learning School of Cricket.
In reply, Learning School of Cricket had scored 137 runs for 6 wickets in 21 overs before the rain started. Vaibhav Raj scored 63 runs. Shaan took 1 wicket, Shravan took 2 wickets and Himanshu Raj took 1 wicket.
Social worker Neeraj Kumar, Mrs Pratima Devi and State Tax Commissioner Shashi Shekhar gave away the prizes. Foundation founder Santosh Tiwari welcomed the guests while organising secretary Naveen Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.
