Patna: Gaya defeated Sheikhpura, Munger defeated Lakhisarai, Madhubani defeated Sitamarhi and Araria defeated Madhepura in BCA Inter District Cricket tournament at different venues of Bihar on Tuesday.
Gaya started their winning campaign defeating Sheikhpura by seven wickets thanks to the excellent performance of their bowlers at the Moinul Haq Stadium.
Sheikhpura won the toss and decided to bat first, but Sheikhpura were all out for 92 runs in 34.3 overs. Prashant Kumar scored 17 runs. For Gaya, Ashutosh Aman, Rohit Kumar, Gaurav Sharma and Prince Kumar took two wickets each.
In reply, Gaya scored 93 for three wickets in 12.2 overs. Ashutosh Aman scored 23 not out and Mangal Mahrour scored 29 runs. Nawaz Khan took two wickets for 24 runs for Sheikhpura.
Munger beat Lakhisarai
Munger defeated Lakhisarai by 52 runs on Tuesday at Sandys Compound Stadium. Munger came out to bat first and scored 281 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Syed Gulrej scored a century (101 off 119 balls) with the help of 15 fours and a six. Amit Kumar scored 53 (24 balls) with the help of six fours and two sixes. Shubham Kumar added 38 runs with the help of 5 fours. Pranay took 3 wickets, Sahil took two wickets, Sachin and Ranjan Manjhi took one wicket each for Lakhisarai.
Chasing the target of 283 runs, the Lakhisarai were all out for 229 runs in 44.2 overs., Neeraj Sharma scored a century of 108 (121 balls) with the help of 8 fours and two sixes. Ranjan Manjhi scored 25 runs with the help of 4 fours. Amit Kumar, Prashant Kumar and Anand Kumar took two wickets for Munger.
Saharsa beat Khagaria
Khagaria won the toss and decided to bowl first. Saharsa while batting first, made 254 runs off 50 overs. For Saharsa, Aniket scored 69 runs and Tanishk scored 43 runs and for Khagaria, Harshit got 4 wickets and Sunil got 2 wickets.
In reply, Khagaria team scored 200 off 43.2 overs. Prateek scored 104 and Harshit scored 25 runs, while for Saharsa, Anshu Singh got 4 wickets and Zafar Imam got 3 wickets.
Madhubani beat Sitamarhi by 5 wickets
Madhubani defeated Sitamarhi by 5 wickets in the match played at Nehru Stadium, Laheriasarai . Batting first after winning the toss, Sitamarhi scored 113 runs in 36.5 overs. Sahab Ali made 31 runs and Baibhav scored 22 runs. Madhubani bowlers Arun, Ayush and Aditya took 4,3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, Madhubani achieved the target losing 5 wickets due to Utkarsh’s unbeaten 27 runs, Ayush’s 28 runs and Sanjay’s 26 runs. Sitamarhi bowlers Vaibhav, Rajesh and Rohit took 2,2 and 1 wickets respectively.
Araria beat Madhepura
Batting first Madhepura scored 163 runs all out off 40.3 overs. For Madhepura, Ehsan scored 25 runs in 44 balls with the help of four fours and a six, and Jishu Qureshi scored 24 runs in 26 balls with the help of four fours. Raja Babu took 5 wickets for 34 runs for Araria. Shravan Kumar took 2 wickets for 31 runs. Chasing the target of 164 runs, Araria’s team achieved the target by losing 6 wickets in 42.3 overs and won the match by 4 wickets.
For Araria, Jailal Murmu scored 79 runs in 86 balls with the help of 10 fours and three sixes and Aditya Raj scored 26 runs in 60 balls with the help of two fours and one six, while Jishu Qureshi got 4 wickets .
