Patna: The Hundred Bihar Sub Junior (U-15/U-17) Ranking Badminton Championship commenced in Muzaffarpur on Friday with a grand inauguration. The event was formally launched by Rajiv Kumar Sharma, MD of Hero, Dr Anita Singh, Principal of R.D.S. College, and K.N. Jaiswal, Secretary of the Bihar Badminton Association, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Organised under the aegis of the Muzaffarpur District Badminton Association, the championship is being held at the Badminton Hall located in R.D.S. College, Muzaffarpur, from 10th to 13th January 2025.
Around 350 players from 26 districts are participating in the tournament across boys’ and girls’ categories. Neeraj Kumar, Secretary of the District Badminton Association, shared that all matches will follow a knockout format. The event was anchored by Dr Ravi Shankar Kumar, Director of Sports, R.D.S. College.
Dignitaries present at the inauguration included Nirmal Sharma, Madhukunj Kumar, Manish Kumar, Md Tauqeer, Vikas Kumar, and Karunesh Kumar.

- Anuj Kumar (Saharsa) defeated Himanshu Shekhar (Aurangabad) 21–15, 21–12.
- Yash (Katihar) defeated Harshit (Muzaffarpur) 21–11, 21–16.
- Fazal Iqbal (Bettiah) defeated Tej Raj (Muzaffarpur) 21–15, 21–15.
- Gunjan Kumar (Aurangabad) defeated Ranvijay Singh (Bettiah) 21–14, 21–13.
- Kavya Kashyap (Muzaffarpur) defeated Sanyam Prakash (Katihar) 21–9, 21–6.
- Ayan Ali (Muzaffarpur) defeated Rishabh Patel (Purnia) 21–11, 21–12.
- Atharva (Purnia) defeated Opponent (Gaya) 21–11, 21–12.
- Raunak Kumar (Khagaria) defeated Ankush Kumar (Muzaffarpur) 21–13, 21–13.
The championship promises thrilling matches as young talent from across Bihar competes for glory.
