Muzaffarpur, April 26, 2024: After suffering two defeats, East Champaran tasted victory in the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament. Competing in Zone B, the East Champaran team defeated Muzaffarpur by three wickets.
Muzaffarpur’s captain won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a target of 244 runs, losing all wickets within the allotted 45 overs. Aditya Kumar showcased exceptional batting, scoring 85 runs. Vikas contributed 37 runs, while Shivam and Ankit Kumar Singh scored 32 runs each. Abhinav Alok and Kunal Kishore added 15 and 12 runs, respectively.
In bowling, Sabir Khan took four wickets for East Champaran, Manikant claimed three wickets, while Ashish and Rajesh each secured one wicket.
In response, East Champaran chased down the target, scoring 245 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 42.2 overs. Sakibul Gani played a stellar innings, scoring 78 runs, while Aman contributed 68 runs. Anupam remained unbeaten with 45 runs, alongside Shivam with 17 runs not out and Varun with 15 runs. Atul Priyankar from Muzaffarpur delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming six crucial wickets, with Mohit taking one wicket.
