Sonepur, April 26, 2024: Samastipur clinched a commanding 76-run victory over Saharsa in the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament, propelled by a spectacular century from Mohammad Alam (110 runs) and solid contributions from Ashfan Khan (46 runs) and Satyam Kumar (46 runs).

At the local railway stadium, Samastipur won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a formidable total of 316 runs for 8 wickets within the allotted 50 overs. Mohammad Alam’s brilliant century comprised 110 runs off 117 balls, featuring 17 fours and 1 six. Additionally, Ashfan Khan and Satyam Kumar both played crucial innings, contributing 46 runs each.

In response, Saharsa managed to score 240 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 50 overs. Suraj Yadav showcased a valiant effort with 93 runs for Saharsa. Other notable contributions came from Prince Kumar (27 runs), Aniket Kumar (22 runs), Sahil Raj (18 runs), and Sagar Kumar (19 not out), while Zafar Imam remained unbeaten with 28 runs.

Suman Kumar, Abhinav Kumar, and Madan Kumar each claimed 2 wickets for Samastipur.
