Bihar get bronze medal in senior national women’s doubles ball badminton

Patna: International players Priya Singh, Vandana Kumari, Poonam Kumari from Bihar received bronze medals in the Women’s Doubles Ball Badminton event of the 69th Senior National Ball Badminton Championship in Gadchiroli (Maharashtra).

In the match played for the third place, the Bihar pair defeated the strong Karnataka pair 35-28, 35-25 in two consecutive sets. Giving this information, Bihar Ball Badminton Association Secretary Gouri Shankar said that Bihar women’s team qualified for the All India Federation Cup Ball Badminton Tournament by securing sixth position in the championship. Vandana Kumari, who performed brilliantly on behalf of Bihar women’s team in the championship, and Deepak Prakash Ranjan, who performed excellently on behalf of Bihar in the men’s category, were given the “Best Upcoming Players Award”.

Bihar Ball Badminton Association president professor Nawal Kishore Yadav and other office-bearers congratulated the Bihar team members on this achievement.
