Patna, May 12: Ayushi from Patna and Nitish Kumar from Bhojpur clinched the women’s and men’s singles titles, respectively, at the Bihar Cup Soft Tennis Championship 2024 held on Sunday at the Patliputra Training Center in Patliputra Colony.

In the boys’ category, Nitish Kumar of Bhojpur emerged victorious, defeating Hoshiar Singh Sagar from his district, while Tanishk Kumar of Bhojpur and Raj Malhotra of Jehanabad secured the third position. Meanwhile, in the girls’ category, Ayushi from Patna claimed the title by defeating Medhavi, also from Patna. Yogita of Patna and Divya of Bhojpur secured the third-place positions.

During the closing ceremony, the chief guest, Patna District Sports Officer Om Prakash, presented the awards. Addressing the players, the chief guest emphasized the importance of integrating sports into daily life, noting its role in fostering both physical and mental development.

Dharamveer Kumar highlighted the significance of soft tennis tournaments in Bihar, mentioning that the Bihar Cup of Soft Tennis was organized for the first time in the state, with over 60 players participating. He announced that following this event, players would be selected to represent Bihar in the upcoming National Games in Mohali.
