Patna: Bihar were 168 for the loss of three wickets in their second innings after being forced to follow on the third day of their Ranji Trophy match against Assam in Guwahati on Sunday. Bihar were all out for 207 runs in their first innings. Assam scored 405 runs in their first innings.
Resuming the day at 134 runs for five wickets, Bihar were all out after scoring 207 runs thanks to Paramjeet’s half-century of 53 runs. For Assam, Sarupam Purkayastha took 4 wickets, Mukhtar took 3 wickets and Ranjeet, Mrinmoy and Rahul took 1 wicket each.
Trailing Assam by 198 runs in the first innings, Bihar had to play follow-on. Thanks to Piyush Kumar Singh’s unbeaten 79 runs in the second innings, Bihar scored 168 runs for the loss of three wickets. Shraman Nigrodh was out after scoring 23 runs, Sakibul Gani was out after scoring one run and Bipin Saurabh was out after scoring 44 runs, while Rishav Raj was unbeaten after scoring 8 runs.
For Assam, Mukhtar, Rahul, and Mrinmoy took one wicket each. Bihar team is 30 runs behind Assam based on their first innings.
