Bhagalpur: Social media post of brandishing revolver landed a youth of Bade Hassanpur village under Jagdishpur police station of district behind bars. After social media videoclip of the said youth displaying firearm became viral on last Sunday, efforts were initiated by Jagdishpur police for identifying the youth.
After verifying genuineness of the videoclip the matter was registered in police record concerning developments of the day (sanha). A police team was constituted for identification and arrest of the youth.
The police team subsequently identified the youth in viral video as Santosh Kumar Mandal and arrested him from his native village Bade Hassanpur. Following interrogation, the fire arm brandished by youth in viral video beside a cartridge was recovered from house of Mandal.
Following his arrest a case was registered against him at Jagdishpur police station. As per police Mandal had been to jail earlier in connection with case lodged against him at excise police station. With an intention of creating terror and establishing his hegemony in the area Mandal had posted his videoclip brandishing revolver in social media, according to police.
