Patna, June 25: Vidyarthi Cricket Club (CC) emerged victorious in the Patna District Junior Division Cricket League, defeating Alliance CC by 16 runs in a thrilling final at the Genex Cricket Academy Ground.
The day began with a poignant tribute as both teams, along with officials from the League Steering Committee, observed two minutes of silence in memory of the late Ashutosh Nandan Singh, former treasurer of the Bihar Cricket Association.
Dhananjay Kumar, Organizing President of the Patna District Senior and Junior League, along with Genex Cricket Academy coach and former Ranji Trophy player Manish Ojha, and Dr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, greeted the players and officially inaugurated the match.
Winning the toss, Alliance CC elected to field first. Vidyarthi CC set a target of 146 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted 30 overs. Key contributions came from Priyanshu with 35 runs and Shubham Pandey with 30 runs. Utkarsh Neel was the standout bowler for Alliance CC, taking 2 wickets.
In response, Alliance CC was bowled out for 130 runs in 29.2 overs. Ayush Kumar’s 41 runs were the highlight of their innings. For Vidyarthi CC, Priyanshu was exceptional, taking 3 wickets, while Priyanshu Yadav added 2 wickets to the tally. Priyanshu, with his all-around performance, was named Player of the Match by Rajesh Kumar, President of the Patna District Cricket Association Steering Committee.
