Patna: Vidarbha batsmen made merry of Bihar bowling attack and amassed 411 runs for the loss of three wickets on the first day of four-day Cooch Behar Trophy match at Urja Stadium here on Saturday.
Rohit V Binkar smashed a magnificent 217 runs and Danish Malewar also stroked in 159 not out in Vidarbha’s mammoth score at the end of the first day’s play.
Vidarbha won the toss and decided to bat first. Vidarbha had a disappointing start as they lost their first wicket for 6 runs on the board. Vidarbha lost their second wicket for 74 runs. After this, the pair of Rohit V Binkar and Danish Malewar took Vidarbha’s score to 411 for the loss of two wickets. But just before the end of the first day’s play, Rohit B Binkar was adjudged run out scoring a gutsy double century (217).
His knock contained 13 fours and 11 sixes and it came off 264 balls. At the other end, Danish Malewar remained unbeaten on 159. His knock of 159 came off 211 balls with the help of 19 fours and 2 sixes. For Bihar, Priyam Choubey took one wicket giving away 61 runs and Aditya Raj took one wicket giving away 97 runs.
