Lucknow: In a major achievement for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has topped in terms of implementation of Prime Minister Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-Urban) with over 14 lakh (14,00,404) houses built for the poor and the deprived in the last six and a half years.
This came to light during a recent meeting presided over by the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department. The focus of the meeting was on highlighting the ongoing enhancements in the state’s performance and tracking the progress of upcoming projects.
It is noteworthy that more than 17.65 lakh houses have been approved in Uttar Pradesh under the PM Awas Yojana (Urban), of which currently, over 17 lakh houses are in various stages of construction. Additionally, work is set to commence soon on 59,000 more houses.
Among the completed houses, more than 12.12 lakh have been constructed under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) scheme, while over 34,000 houses have been completed under the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) scheme, and more than 1.55 lakh houses have been completed under the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS). The process of allocating these houses to eligible beneficiaries is also progressing rapidly.
Light House Project will be completed in December
The discussion in the meeting remained focused on the construction of the Light House Project in the Awadh Vihar Yojana of Lucknow. The Light House Project is poised to become a milestone in the housing landscape of Uttar Pradesh. Located in Sector 5, this project embraces an innovative construction perspective by utilizing a hybrid system incorporating PEB structural and in-place formwork systems.
The project, which is on the way to completion in December, also showcases excellent work of Uttar Pradesh in housing projects and stands as a testament to the commitment of the Yogi government to provide quality and affordable housing solutions.
