UP government extends application deadline for computer training scheme to November 10

Lucknow: In a move to support skill development among educated, unemployed youth from Other Backward Classes (OBC), the UP government has extended the application deadline for the second phase of the Computer Training Scheme for the financial year 2024-25 from October 30 to November 10, 2024.

Interested candidates can now apply online for “O” level and “CCC” computer training until November 10. To date, over 9,000 applicants have successfully submitted their applications under this scheme.

UP Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Narendra Kashyap, announced the extension of the application deadline to encourage more educated unemployed youth from other backward classes to participate in this program.

“In line with the updated schedule, applicants must upload their educational certificates and other required documents online along with their application. Additionally, they should download a copy of the completed application and submit it, along with all necessary documents, as a hard copy to the respective District Backward Classes Welfare Officer’s office by November 10, 2024”, he stated.

Waiting list of selected candidates will also be prepared

From November 11 to November 16, 2024, the District Backward Classes Welfare Officer will print the applications submitted online and review their records. The applicants’ income, caste certificates, and educational records will undergo online verification. Eligible trainees’ applications will be verified and confirmed, while incorrect or ineligible applications will be rejected.

After finalizing the list of trainees, the selected beneficiaries’ names, according to the institution and course allocations set by the Directorate, will be digitally locked following district-level approval. Additionally, a waiting list of candidates will be prepared and will also receive approval from the district-level selection committee.

Training will start simultaneously from November 25

From November 18 to November 24, 2024, selected candidates will be admitted to their respective institutions, and registration will be processed with NIIT. For candidates who do not enroll, spots will be allocated to those on the waiting list.

The admission status will be updated on the portal, and the setup for the Aadhaar attendance system for trainees will be finalized. Training for the selected candidates will commence across all districts in the state starting November 25, 2024.

District Backward Classes Welfare Officers instructed to ensure wide publicity

Director of Backward Classes Welfare, Dr. Vandana Verma, has instructed all District Backward Classes Welfare Officers—excluding those in Kanpur Dehat and Shravasti—to ensure wide publicity of the revised schedule for the second phase at no cost.

She emphasized that all necessary tasks must be completed within the set timeframe, strictly following government orders and previously issued guidelines.
