Patna: Andhra Pradesh defeated Bihar by 38 runs in the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy match played in Chandigarh on Wednesday.
Bihar won the toss and invited Andhra Pradesh to bat. Andhra Pradesh scored 220 for 9 wickets in 50 overs, while Bihar were all out for 182 runs in 42.4 overs.
At one time Andhra Pradesh’s score was 36 runs for five wickets, but thanks to the sixth partnership of 149 runs between M Yuvan and KR Roushil, Andhra Pradesh scored 220 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. For Bihar, Vasudev took 3 wickets, Vivek took 2 wickets and Anup and Satyam took one wicket each.
In reply, Bihar were all out for 182 runs in just 42.4 overs. Vaibhav again performed brilliantly and scored 69 runs, while Agasatya contributed 38 runs, Taufiq 30 made runs and Anup Kumar contributed 30 unbeaten runs. For Andhra Pradesh, Sai Sarwan took 4 wickets, M Yuvan and Sriram took 2 wickets each and Hemant Kumar took one wicket. Bihar’s last match is against Jammu and Kashmir on October 20.
