Patna: The elections of the Boxing Association of Bihar were held on Sunday, April 21, at The Organo Resort here. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tarkishore Prasad was unanimously elected as the President, and Smita Kumari was elected as the Secretary for the next four years. The association elected Om Prakash Singh as its chairman.
All of the affiliated units of the Boxing Association of Bihar participated in the elections, which were conducted under the supervision of Boxing Federation of India observer Virendra Singh Thakur, Bihar Olympic Association observer Ramashish Prasad Singh, and Sports Department observer Anandi Kumar. It was decided to organise a national level boxing tournament in Bihar this year. Smita Kumari, the newly elected Secretary, expressed her intention to further accelerate the development of boxing in Bihar. Additionally, she plans to intensify efforts to spark girls’ interest in this sport. Besides, its development programmes will be run at the school level.
