Stage set for India Capitals face off against Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator

Surat: India Capitalsthe GMR group owned franchisee, will face off against Gujarat Giants as the stage is set for the Eliminator in the Legends League Cricket (LLC) Season 2 on Wednesday, which will be played here at Lalabhai Contractor Stadium. The defending champions, India Capitals finished fourth in the league standings and will look to reach Qualifier 2 when they face Gujarat Giants who finished third in the league standings.

The eliminator game between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants will be played on 06th December 2023 (Wednesday) which will be telecast LIVE on the Star Sports Network from 06:30 pm IST onwards. The match can also be streamed LIVE on Disney+ Hotstar and FanCode.

Speaking ahead of the match, India Capitals’ captain Gautam Gambhir said, “We will look to take the playoffs one match at a time. The first aim is to play good cricket and win the eliminator. I am confident that the team can perform at their best in the pressure matches”.

In their final league game, India Capitals went down in a last-over thriller against Manipal Tigers as the latter chased down the target of 187 with a ball to spare. Bharat Chipli (65 of 51) was the top-scorer for the Capitals, as KP Appanna (2-12) shone with the ball.

For the Capitals, Ricardo Powell (140 runs in 4 matches) is the leading run-scorer this season as Kirk Edwards (123 runs) and Ashley Nurse (101 runs) have also shone with the bat. Isuru Udana (7 wickets) and Rusty Theron (5 wickets) have been the pick of the bowlers for the Capitals so far.

On the other hand, Gujarat Giants finished the league stage winning three of their five matches. With big names on their side, like Chris Gayle, Jacques Kallis, Parthiv Patel, and S Sreesanth, the Eliminator promises to be a tightly fought affair.
