Patna: The second day of the “Festival of Books and Reading” at St. Karen’s High school was a resounding success, leaving an indelible mark on the literary landscape. The meticulously organized book fair arena welcomed schools from across Patna, including St. Karen’s Secondary School, G D Goenka Public School, Army Public School, East and West High School, Radiant International School, and St. Karen’s Collegiate School.
Team Scholastic and the entire St. Karen’s Family demonstrated exceptional dedication and planning, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for students, parents, and educators alike.
The day was filled with an array of engaging activities, showcasing the school’s commitment to fostering a love for literature and the arts. The event featured renowned figures in the literary world, such as quiz master and author Aditya Nath Mubayi, master storytellers and authors Ms Rituparna Ghosh, Ms Simi Srivastava, Ms Latika Iyer, and Ms Scharada Dubey. Magician Hassan Khan mesmerized the audience with a captivating magic show, and Ajit Narayan, the famous cartoonist and author, demonstrated and tutored the students the art of cartooning and comic drawings.
A highlight of the festival was the book launch of “Padmashree Awardees” by author Anu Chawala, with School Supervisor, Sheffali Srivastava and Principal Mrs. Seema Singh doing the honors. The literary offerings were complemented by the art and craft zone, Origami zone, puppet show.
Throughout the day, the enthusiasm of students and parents remained high, with the number of visitors swelling as the day progressed. The literary festival not only provided a platform for exploring books but also offered a culinary delight with food courts providing a range of delicacies.
Mr. Namish Kumar and Ms. Vinnie Sharon Noel, the programme in Charges along with all the teachers of St Karen’s High School, were thrilled about the success of the “Festival of Books and Reading.” They are optimistic that the positive response will continue on the final day of the event.
