Patna: Sheikhpura defeated Nalanda, West Champaran defeated Siwan, Samastipur defeated Khagaria, Katihar defeated Kishanganj, Kaimur defeated Buxar, Bhagalpur defeated Lakhisarai and Supaul defeated Sitamarhi in the BCA Inter District Cricket Tournament played at different venues of Bihar on Saturday.
Sheikhpura beat Nalanda
Sheikhpura defeated Nalanda by 15 runs in Magadh Zone match of BCA Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament thanks to Ashiq (66 runs) and excellent bowling by Nawaz Khan (four wickets) and Mohammad Sattar (three wickets). This was Nalanda’s second defeat in three matches and Sheikhpura’s first win in two matches.
Batting first, Sheikhpura scored 237 runs, losing all wickets in 48.3 overs. Sonu scored 31, Jatin scored 47, Chandan scored 29, Ashiq scored 66, Suraj scored 17 runs. For Nalanda, Rashmikant took 3 for 33 and Veer Pratap took 4 for 30.
In reply, Nalanda scored 222 despite, half-centuries from Naman Gaurav (66 runs) and Veer Pratap Singh (64 runs). For Sheikhpura, Nawaz Khan took 4 wickets giving away 28 runs and Md Sattar took 3 wickets by giving 29 runs. Nawaz Khan of the winning team was adjudged man of the match .
West Champaran beat Siwan
Sonpur: West Champaran beat Siwan by two wickets at Railway Stadium, Sonpur. Siwan scored 117 all out in 30.4 overs thanks to Imran Nazir 38, Tariq Jameel 17 and Faheem Anwar 16 runs. Jitendra took 4 wickets and Himanshu, Lokesh and Abhishek took two wickets each for West Champaran.
In reply, West Champaran scored 118 runs for eight wickets in 36.5 overs. For West Champaran, Abhishek made 69 runs. For Siwan, Imran Nazir took three wickets and Tariq Jameel took 2 wickets.
Samastipur beat Khagaria
Begusarai: At the Barauni Refinery Stadium in Begusarai, batting first Khagaria scored 278 runs losing 7 wickets in 50 overs. Harshit Anand scored 65 runs and Prateek Vats scored 124 runs for Khagaria. Dileshwar Chandan got 4 wickets and Suman Kumar got 2 wickets for Samastipur.
In reply, Samastipur achieved the target without losing a wicket. Samastipur opener Alok Kumar scored 132 not out and Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored an unbeaten 128 runs. Alok of Samastipur was awarded the man of the match award.
Katihar beat Kishanganj
Purnia: At Green Valley ground in Gulab Bagh, Katihar openers Captain Ankit Singh and Ashwani Kumar put on a solid foundation of 220 runs for the first wicket and Katihar scored 405 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 50 overs. For Katihar, both the openers scored centuries. Ankit Singh scored 131 runs in 107 balls with the help of 14 fours and 7 sixes and Ashwini Kumar scored 163 not out in 144 balls with the help of 20 fours and 2 sixes.
Chasing the target of 406 runs, the Kishanganj were bundled out for just 149 runs. Khalid took six wickets for Katihar.
Kaimur win by 5 wickets
Bhabhua: Kaimur defeated Buxar by 5 wickets. Batting first Buxar scored 261 runs losing all wickets in 49.5 overs. For Buxar, Sourav batting brilliantly scored a century 101 runs in 133 balls with 10 fours and 1 six. Nikhil scored 44 runs in just 17 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. Vikas Patel got 3 wickets and Vikas Singh and Md Saif got two wickets each.
Chasing the target, Kaimur’s opener batsmen made a decent start and made a half-century partnership, followed by Shashank Upadhyay’s century and Wasim Ali’s half-century innings, which guided Kaimur to 5-wicket win.
Shashank Upadhyay scored a century (110) and Wasim Ali made 68 runs.
Bhagalpur beat Lakhisarai
Bhagalpur: Bhagalpur defeated Lakhisarai by one wicket on Saturday in the fourth league match of Angika Zone. Lakhisarai scored 168 runs in 44.4 overs. Sachin Kumar took 6 wickets by giving away 44 runs in 10 overs.
Chasing the target of 169 runs, Bhagalpur scored 169 runs losing 9 wickets in 40.2 overs. Kumar Gaurav Raj scored maximum 33 runs. Akash Kumar took 3 wickets.
Supaul beat Sitamarhi
Darbhanga: Supaul beat Sitamarhi by four runs in a match that started late due to a wet pitch in Darbhanga. Supaul scored 146 runs in the loss of 9 wickets in 25 overs. Md Shamsher scored a brilliant 50 runs in 59 balls with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes.
For, Sitamarhi Saurabh, Ankesh and Rohit took three wickets each. In reply, Sitamarhi scored 142 runs for 9 wickets off 25 overs. Aniket Kumar scored an unbeaten 61 runs in 61 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes. Supaul’s bowlers Rajesh and Shamsher took three wickets each.
