Patna: The selection trials for Bihar kho-kho teams (boys and girls) which will participate in the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, will be held in Patna on March 23. The trials are being organised by Kho-Kho Association of Bihar in collaboration with the Bihar State Sports Authority. The trials are scheduled to take place at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna.
Neeraj Kumar Pappu, General Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, said that the trials will commence at 8 am. He said that only players born on or after January 1, 2007 are eligible to participate. The selection process is free of charge, and players from all districts across Bihar are encouraged to take part. Participants must bring their original birth certificate, Aadhaar card (along with a photocopy), and two passport-sized photographs to the trials.
Pappu further said that players who successfully make it through the trials will be invited to attend a training camp. This camp will be conducted under the guidance of Raveendran Sankaran, Director General of the Bihar State Sports Authority. To ensure the players receive top-notch coaching, experienced cocahes from outside Bihar are being brought in. Following the camp, the final teams will be announced.
It is worth noting that Bihar will host the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, which will run from May 4 to May 15. The events will be spread across five cities in the state, with the Kho-Kho matches proposed to be held in Gaya.
