Patna: Pranay Thapa made 64 runs and Raxit Mehta hit 75 runs as Saurashtra registered 6-wicket victory over Bihar in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy Under-19 Men’s One Day tournament at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday . Bihar will play their last league match on October 14 against Karnataka.
Bihar have played four matches so far and won only one and lost the remaining three.
Batting first, after losing the toss, Bihar scored 163 runs for the loss of all wickets in 48.3 overs. In reply, Saurashtra scored 166 for four in 30.2 overs and won the match.
For Bihar, Pawan Rai 13, captain Kumar Shrey 10, Yashasvi Shukla 23, vice -captain Ayush Anand 53, Harshit Singh 5, Shivam Kumar 11, Anoop Kumar 23 not out, Md Kaif 19, Badal Kanojia 2 and Md Izhar 2 were the run getters.
For Saurashtra, Om Kanwar (3 for 35), Hiten Kanvi (4 for 30), Manav (1 for 11), Ansh 1 wicket for 18 runs were the wicket takers.
In reply, Saurashtra hit up 166 for four in 30.2 overs. Pranay Thapa scored 64 and Rakshit Mehta scored 75 not out for Saurashtra. Dhyey Mehta scored 13 runs.
For Bihar, Md Izhar took 2 wickets for 34, Badal Kanojia bagged one wicket for 20 runs and Shivam Kumar took 1 wicket for 23 runs.
