Patna: Saran won the boys title while Patna clinched the girls crown of the the 21st Bihar State Sub Junior Boys and Girls Softball Championship played at Ramana Ground in Sonepur on Sunday.
In the final match of the boys category, an exciting match was seen between Saran and Nalanda. There was a tough fight between both the teams. Saran captured the title by defeating Nalanda 6-5. In the girls category, Patna defeated Saran 5-4 and claimed the trophy.
Earlier, in the semi-final match of boys category played today, Nalanda defeated Vaishali and Saran defeated Bhojpur to reach the finals. Later, Bhojpur defeated Vaishali for the third place. Bhojpur team stood third in boys and girls category.
Shivnath Mandal (district councilor) was the chief guest while Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Director of Bihar State Art Culture Youth Department was the special guest at the prize distribution function. Chief Patron of Softball Association of Bihar Ajay Narayan Sharma, President Gautam Kanodia, Joint Secretary Rupak Kumar, Assistant Secretary Bipin Kumar. Match official Vijay Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Shashi Kumar, and national players Monu Kumar, Shikha Sonia, Sakshi Gupta, Tanuja Kiran, Sweta Kumari Vishal Kumar were present on the occasion.
