Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched the Zero Poverty Scheme to uplift the most disadvantaged families in the state by improving their living standards. The scheme aims to identify 25 lakh underprivileged families across Uttar Pradesh, enabling them to access government benefits and boost their annual income to Rs 1,25,000 per family. A statewide campaign is underway to identify these families.

Acting on CM Yogi’s vision, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh personally took to the field on Thursday afternoon, accompanied by his wife, to visit villages in the capital without the usual protocol. His goal was to find a family in need without disturbing their festivities or drawing unnecessary attention.

In Salauli village of Gosaiganj, he met Ruby, a resident whose family is now the first to benefit from the Zero Poverty Scheme. Ruby shared that her husband, Ram Sagar, works as a laborer, while she supports the family by working in local fields. They have two young children, Shivansh (3) and Sudhir (around two years old).

After an in-depth conversation with Ruby and a careful assessment of her situation, Chief Secretary Singh selected her family as the scheme’s first beneficiary. He reassured Ruby that her hardships would soon lessen, with full support from the Yogi government and administration. Explaining the benefits of the Zero Poverty Scheme, he promised that they would soon begin to experience its positive impact on their lives.
