Patna: Raj Milk FC beat Patna Warriors 1-0 to win Rajkumar Mahaseth Memorial Patna District Senior Division Football League title at VN Sharma Institute Stadium here on Thursday.
Right from the word go, there was fierce competition between the two teams but Raj Milk Football Club maintained its dominance.
Thousands of spectators had come to watch the grand finale of this league played under the auspices of Patna Football Association. Apart from the stalwarts of Patna Football Association, many football lovers also registered their presence in this bitter cold to watch the final match.
As chief referee Arun Hansda blew his whistle, both the teams started making moves against each other. In the 12th minute of the game, Raj Milk’s Centro Allen took the lead and scored a goal to give his team a 1-0 lead. The atmosphere of the entire stadium turned hot in the cold weather. Fans of both the teams were seen cheering their players. Raj Milk remained ahead 1-0 till the first half.
As soon as the second half of the game started, efforts started once again for both the teams to take the lead. Patna Warriors got a wonderful opportunity to equalize in the 58th minute of the game. Patna Warriors got a penalty but their star player T Abhay, who took the penalty kick, missed the mark . After this, attempts were made by the players of both the teams to score goals but they were not successful and ultimately Raj Milk won the match 1-0 and retained the title.
Bihar Government’s Industries Minister cum Chairman of Patna Football Association Samir Kumar Mahaseth and Bihar Football Association Secretary Syed Imtiaz Hussain gave away the prizes. The guests were welcomed by Patna Football Association President Ramishwar Prasad and Secretary Manoj Kumar proposed vote of thanks.
On this occasion, Treasurer of Patna Football Association Rajendra Prasad Yadav, HRO of Bihar Football Association Satyendra Kumar, Senior Referee Jitendra Kumar Johny, Coach of Patna Football Team Sanjeev Kumar, Officials of Patna Football Association Gopinath Dutta, Sunil Kumar, Ramesh Kumar Sharma, Tapan Many dignitaries including Saha, Shivshankar Prasad, Ravi Shankar, Naresh Paswan were present.
Raj Milk team owner Vidya Bhushan Singh and Satyendra Kumar while congratulating the team players and supporting staff said that everyone played brilliantly.
