Prashant Kishor Promises 70 Assembly Tickets for Backward Communities on Karpoori Thakur’s Birth Anniversary

By Vishwapati

Patna: On the 101st birth anniversary of Jananayak Karpoori Thakur, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, also known as PK, made a significant announcement at Miller School Ground in Patna. He declared that the Jan Suraaj Party would allocate 70 assembly tickets to candidates from backward communities in the upcoming elections. Kishor emphasised that the party would not only provide tickets but also offer resources to help these candidates contest the elections effectively.

Challenging the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Mahagathbandhan, Kishor claimed that even if both alliances combined their efforts, they would fail to match Jan Suraaj’s commitment to giving tickets to 70 candidates from backward communities.

Referring to the recent police lathi charge on BPSC aspirants protesting against the paper leak, Prashant Kishor accused the government of corruption, alleging that examination seats were sold for thousands of crores. He criticised the police for indiscriminately using force, stating, “The police did not ask about anyone’s caste; they brutally beat everyone. Now is the time to remove from power those who got your children beaten with sticks in this harsh cold. This time, the blow of the lathi must be answered with the blow of votes.”

Kishor also criticised Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav, accusing them of destroying Bihar over the past 35 years under the guise of creating an egalitarian society. He claimed that their leadership had only resulted in looting the public in the name of social justice.

Highlighting the vision of Karpoori Thakur, Kishor outlined the five principles of Jan Suraaj for building an egalitarian society. Prashant Kishor stressed the importance of land reforms, equal education for all, and access to capital for employment generation. “Currently, only eight castes own two-thirds of the land in Bihar, while 60 out of 100 people are landless. Jan Suraaj will implement land reforms within three years if it comes to power,” he asserted.

Kishor’s announcement has set the stage for a heated political battle in Bihar, as he positions Jan Suraaj as a party dedicated to genuine social justice and reform.
