Bhagalpur: PM Narendra Modi is likely to make some important announcements regarding Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana during his proposed visit here on February 24. During his visit here funds under Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana is likely to be transferred by PM to left out beneficiaries under the Yojana.
PM could also make some major announcements for the state during his visit here. The administrative machinery at state and local level has already geared up for preparatory arrangements. A meeting presided by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, union agriculture minister, was held at Krishi Bhawan, Patna today in connection with proposed visit of PM here.
Samrat Choudhury, deputy chief minister of state, Bhagirath Choudhury, union minister of state for agriculture, Mangal Pandey, agriculture minister in state government besides Amrit Lal Meena and Sanjay Aggarwal respectively Bihar government chief secretary and secretary of state agriculture department were present at the meeting.
Through video conferencing Dr Dilip Jaiswal, revenue and land reforms minister in state government, Lalan Kumar and Pawan Kumar Yadav both MLA, Dr N K Yadav, MLC besides Dr Nawal Kishore Choudhary, DM, Hridaykant, SSP, Nitin Kumar Singh, director, agriculture department, Pradeep Kumar Singh, DDC joined the meeting from here.
In connection with likely visit of PM, the union agriculture asked officials to include names of maximum number of farmers in list of beneficiaries under Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana. He also asked for organizing agriculture exhibition on works being undertaken by government for betterment of agriculture sector.
The minister directed for organizing agriculture exhibition in all districts. In course of his address Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured making available cent per cent fund allocated for agriculture sector in current year beside he said decision pertaining to establishment of seven center of excellence would be taken soon.
The secretary of agriculture department who informed about works being undertaken by state government for development of agriculture sector through power point presentation said funds under Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojan has been transferred to 2.62 lakh beneficiaries so far in state.
Discussion was held in the meeting on venue of PM’s programme here. DM informed about two places shortlisted for programme of PM. Out of the two places suggested by DM for programme of PM, selection of a place was made at the meeting. The state government minsters present in the meeting placed demand before the union agriculture minister regarding measures by central government that could help in further development of state agriculture sector.
