Patna: On the third day of the Bihar State Inter-District School Girls Athletics Championships, Patna district continued to lead the medal table, securing 7 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze medals. Siwan district made significant strides on Friday by winning two gold medals, placing them second overall with 7 gold and 2 bronze medals. Gaya district, with 5 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals, and West Champaran, with 5 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals, took third and fourth positions, respectively.

The championships, held at the Patliputra Sports Complex, saw stellar performances from several athletes. Kamini Kumari of Gaya (800m and 1500m) in the Under-19 category, Gulli Kumari of Siwan (800m and 1500m) and Saumya Rai of Siwan (Shotput and Discus) in the Under-17 category, and Bindiya Kumari of West Champaran (400m and 600m) alongside Yasmin Parveen of Patna (High Jump and Long Jump) in the Under-14 category, all achieved double golds for their respective districts.

Medals and certificates for Friday’s events were distributed by Om Prakash, District Sports Officer, Patna, who also serves as the Organising Secretary.
