Nilanjana Sharma Wins Girls’ Under-11 Title at Bihar State Table Tennis Championship

Saharsa: Nilanjana Sharma of Muzaffarpur clinched the girls’ under-11 singles title at the Ravindra Narayan Singh Memorial Bihar State Inter-District Table Tennis Championship, held at Khel Bhawan, Saharsa. In an impressive final match, Nilanjana defeated Shranaya Anand of Madhepura 3-1 to secure the championship.

Team Championship Finals Set

The team championship finals have been decided. In the women’s category, Secretariat Sports Club will face Patna A, while the men’s category final will see Patna A competing against Patna B.

Women’s Team Championship Results

In the round-robin stage, Secretariat Sports Club dominated with victories over:

  • Madhepura: 3-0
  • Muzaffarpur: 3-0
  • Patna B: 3-2

Patna A also showed a strong performance, defeating:

  • Patna B: 3-0
  • Muzaffarpur: 3-0
  • Madhepura: 3-0

Men’s Team Championship Results

In the men’s category, Patna A secured their spot in the final with wins against:

  • Muzaffarpur: 3-1
  • Samastipur A: 3-0
  • Purnia: 3-0

Patna B also excelled, defeating:

  • Samastipur B: 3-0
  • Saharsa: 3-0
  • Madhepura: 3-0

Support and Organisation

Organising Secretary Roshan Singh Dhoni praised the efforts of the District Table Tennis Association, led by President Vivek Vishal and Vice President Umar Hayat Guddu, along with other key contributors, including Nitish Mishra, Rana Ranjan Singh, and Virendra Ram.

Kunal Kumar, Director of the Progressive Table Tennis Academy in Haryana, has sponsored the tournament balls and will visit to motivate the young players.

The tournament is being efficiently conducted by Director Pradeep Shrivastav, Chief Referee Atanu Chatterjee, and Assistant Referees Pradeep Shankar Mishra and Ashok Kumar.

This championship highlights the growing talent in Bihar’s table tennis scene, with young players like Nilanjana Sharma shining brightly on the state stage.
