Nalanda-Darbhanga Under-19 Cricket Match Ends in Draw; Aarav Jha’s 7-Wicket Haul Dominates

Patna, May 9: The Nalanda versus Darbhanga match in the Randhir Verma Under-19 Cricket Tournament Super League ended in a draw at the Moinul Haq Stadium on Thursday.

Darbhanga secured 3 points based on the first innings lead, while Nalanda earned 1 point. Nalanda posted 148 runs in their first innings, losing all wickets, and managed 57 runs in the second innings, also losing all wickets in 21.1 overs. Meanwhile, Darbhanga declared their first innings at 205 runs for 6 wickets in 50.3 overs.

Nalanda, resuming at 96 runs for 6 wickets on the second day, added 52 runs before being all out for 148 runs. Ricky Kumar contributed 26 runs, while Neeraj Paswan remained unbeaten with 23 runs.

For Darbhanga, Aniket Amit Raj claimed 4 wickets, and Aarav Jha took 3 wickets.

In their first innings, Darbhanga declared at 205 runs for 6 wickets, with Abhishek Kumar Mahato scoring 75 runs and Bhasawan Bhardwaj adding 44 runs. Aniket Santosh Raj scored 38 runs, and Aniket Kumar contributed 27 runs. Ricky Kumar and Harshit Raj took 3 and 2 wickets respectively for Nalanda.

Facing Darbhanga’s bowling prowess, Nalanda were all out for 57 runs in their second innings. Aarav Jha’s exceptional performance led to his 7-wicket haul for just 16 runs. AS Gaurav scored 13 runs, while Jiral Patel contributed 11 runs for Nalanda. After Nalanda’s innings, the match was declared a draw.
