New Delhi: Renowned Maitreyi College of Delhi University is organising Annual Sports Festival “Agaaz” from April 17 to April 19 2023 where Athletics, Zumba, Tug of War, Kho Kho, Basketball and Football will be organized. ‘Agaaz’ is an Annual Sports fest which was introduced by Maitreyi College in the year 2017.
The special attraction will be the Athletics events of Special Children which will be organized in collaboration with Special Olympic Bharat. In the Athletics event, the athletes from 15 Special Schools will participate as unified partener in 100m, 200m, 100mtr Relay Race and Shot Put.
Special athletes will also participate in Zumba & Tug of War as unified partner with other abled athletes.
On completion of 7th year of this initiative, Ms. Shipra Verma, Associates Professor, Department of Physical Education Head of Department, Maitreyi College informed that the athletes from all colleges & universities of Delhi-NCR can take part in this prestigious tournament.
Dr. Malika Nadda who is the Chairperson of Special Olympics Bharat & one of the leading social activists will be the Chief Guest for this mega Annual Sports Fest.
Dr. Haritma Chopra, Principal Maitreyi College is very optimistic about the success of the Sports Festival. She said that “The vision of inclusive society can be realised when events of such stature are organised at international and national levels.”
She also congratulated to the team of special Olympic Bharat working under the dynamic leadership of chairperson Dr Mallika Nadda for undertaking initiatives to bring change in the society and make it a better place to live in for all.
